How The Times Have Changed: The Year Newman Seniors Were Born, to Now

Seniors, as graduation is close approaching how about we look back at the year you guys were born and see how much the culture has changed as we compare it to modern day. 

Smartphones: 

In 2003 we saw many flip-phones and smartphones used for calling someone, messaging, and being able to email someone on the fly. The modern day we see phones like the iPhone, Samsung, and Android that can play games, message, email, call, access the internet, various apps, and many more. With the times changing we have seen an upgrade in phones 

Computers: 

Computers were much different in 2003 as many of the computers had monitors included. Usually at the back of the computer was the opening to where the parts of the computer were located. In the modern day many computers have their own separate desktop case and the monitors are separated. Many computers are used for gaming and for the workplace in the modern day in age. 

Movies:

In 2003 the releases of Finding Nemo, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, The Matrix Reloaded, 2 Fast 2 Furious, and Bad Boys II were the hit movies in 2003. The releases of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Shang-Chi, and Venom: Let There be Carnage. 

Pop Music: 

In 2003 the hit music was In da Club by 50 Cent, Ignition by R. Kelly, Crazy in Love by Beyoncé and Jay-Z, and When I’m Gone by 3 Doors Down. The releases of Drivers License by Olivia Rodrigo, MONTERO by Lil Nas X, RAPSTAR by Polo G, and Bad Habits by ED Sheeran are the modern hit songs. 

President 

The President in 2003 was George W. Bush was in his third year of his first term as the United States president and was the son of the former president George H. W. Bush. The current president of the United States is Joe Biden who is in his second year of his first term as President. 

Super Bowl Champions:

The Super Bowl Champions in 2003 were the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who defeated the Oakland Raiders in San Diego, California. The current Super Bowl Champions are the Los Angeles Rams who defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in Los Angeles, California.
