Crusader Golf Team for the Win!
The Cardinal Newman 2020-2021 Varsity Golf Team had a very eventful season! With a total of six varsity players, they worked and persevered throughout the season. Today, on October 30, 2020, the Cardinal Newman Blue and Gold had the opportunity to interview Rafi Escoto, a prominent player on the team.
CN Blue and Gold: What did you get out of this season?
Rafi Escoto: This season I learned that golf is not just a game, but a mental challenge. You have to be very stable in your game because one shot can affect everything.
CN Blue and Gold: What is the most important thing about golf?
Rafi Escoto: The foundation, because if you don’t have a foundation you will not have a successful game or get anything out of the sport.
CN Blue and Gold: How do you feel the team played this year?
Rafi Escoto: I thought we played very well, and I am looking forward to next year’s season.
CN Blue and Gold: What do you want to improve in your golf game, before next year’s season?
Rafi Escoto: I would like to improve my distance, the mental aspects of the game, and my putting.
Throughout the season Rafi Escoto among other players, demonstrated great success in many championship games. The Cardinal Newman Blue and Gold wishes the Cardinal Newman Varsity Boys Golf Team good-luck in the upcoming season.
