Three Touchdowns Not Enough to Beat Kings Academy
The Cardinal Newman Crusaders Varsity Football team lost their first pre-season opener Friday night by an impressive King’s Academy offense 54-20.
The Lions took an early lead by the second quarter 33-0.
The Crusaders were plagued early on by penalties, interceptions and multiple sacks.
The Crusaders turned it around third quarter with a rushing touchdownto to make it 33-6. Crusaders scored a second touchdown in the third to make it 39-13.
Kings Academy answered back with another touchdown to make it 47-13 at the end of the third quarter. Another touchdown by Kings Academy in the fourth brought the Tigers ahead to 54-13.
Another Newman touchdown in the fourth made it 54-20 to end the game.
